Woof, woof! Dog days are here for KROKUS.
He's a super cool dog. And now «Da Dög» will step into the spotlight with the release of KROKUS' newest album «Dirty Dynamite» on Friday. Recently at the «Swiss Awards» he walked for the first time in the spotlight on the red carpet with KROKUS-bassist and producer Chris von Rohr - very soon the entire world will know him. The Olde English Bulldog is the new KROKUS-Star on the cover of our newest CD «Dirty Dynamite», where he was trimmed as «tough dog» with aviator goggles, branding and a cigarette hanging from his mouth.
How did this bulldog become the newest member of KROKUS? «This dog radiates a philosophical serenity and at the same time pure fun», explains Chris. The two-year old rock stud is originally from Solothurn, Switzerland - like KROKUS, but lives these days in the Zurich region, where most of the time he just likes to chill and do nothing.
«He is a quiet and lazy dog, not very active, rather easy going», tells owner Patrizia of Da Dög, who actually goes by the name of Maddox. «One exception is when he can chase a ball» Or he's getting some food: dog food, cucumbers, carrots. «He loves any kind of food except fennel, he categorically spits that one out.», adds Patrizia. «We have to watch him, because he could eat all day long.»
And while KROKUS roar in concert halls all over the world, the oldest of a litter of ten makes the walls of the home he lives at shake, rattle and roll. «He's not allowed to sleep in the bedroom. He snores so loud, no one gets a good night's sleep», confesses Patrizia.
But these days «sleep» is the last thing in anyone's mind. Asked if the «KROKUS Dög's» will rock forever, the band answers in unison with a loud an clear «Yes». And Da Dög is part of the ride. Being the band's official mascot, he was able to exclusively listen in advance to the «Dirty Dynamite»-album. His upshut: Woof!

Er ist ein ganz cooler Hund. Und jetzt kommt Da Dög gross raus. Am Swiss Award durfte er mit Krokus-Bassist und -Produzent Chris von Rohr über den roten Teppich laufen, bald kennt ihn die ganze Schweiz. Denn die Olde English Bulldogge ist der heimliche neue Krokus-Star, auf dem Cover der am Freitag erscheinenden CD «Dirty Dynamite» wurde sie mit Fliegerbrille, Branding und Zigarette im Mundwinkel zum harten Hund getrimmt.
Aber wie wurde die Bulldogge überhaupt zum neuen Krokus-Mitglied? «Dieser Hund strahlt philosophische Gelassenheit und Fun pur gleichzeitig aus», erklärt von Rohr. Der zweijährige Rockstar-Rüde kommt wie die Band aus Solothurn, hat seine Hütte aber mittlerweile im Zürcher Furttal – wo er am liebsten auf dem faulen Fell liegt.
«Er ist ein ruhiger und gemütlicher Hund, nicht besonders aktiv, schiebt lieber eine ruhige Kugel», sagt Besitzerin Patrizia über Da Dög, der eigentlich Maddox heisst. «Ausser er sieht einen Ball, dem er hinterherhecheln kann.» Oder es gibt was zu fressen: Hundefutter, Gurken, Rüebli. «Er liebt alles bis auf Fenchel, den spuckt er aus», so das Frauchen. «Wir müssen ihn bremsen, sonst würde er denn ganzen Tag fressen.»
Und während Krokus in Konzerthallen dröhnen, lässt der älteste Hund eines Zehnerwurfs zu Hause die Wände wackeln. «Er darf nicht im Schlafzimmer übernachten. Er schnarcht so laut, da kriegt man kein Auge zu», erzählt Patrizia.
Aber jetzt ist alles andere als Schlafen angesagt. Denn auf die Frage, ob die Hunde ewig rocken wollen, antworten Krokus mit einem klaren Ja. Und Da Dög ist mit von der Partie. Als Bandmaskottchen durfte er das «Dirty Dynamite»-Album schon exklusiv hören. Sein Fazit: Wau!
